Programs Available at PCI Health Training Center:
Medical AssistantThis nine month program prepares a graduate to work as an entry-level Medical Assistant. Within this general career category are a number of specialty areas, including Administrative Office Assistant, Clinic Assistant, Medical Office Manager, Phlebotomist, and Physical Therapy Technician in a doctor’s office, clinic, or hospital. Graduates will be able to check vital signs, assist in physical examinations, charting, injections, electrocardiograms, phlebotomy, and perform basic laboratory tests.
During the classroom portion of training, students will be introduced to a variety of subjects ranging from medical office software, processing insurance and other front office skills, to anatomy and physiology. Students will receive hands-on laboratory training from the very first week of classes.

Medical Office Assistant
This six month program prepares a graduate to work as an entry-level Medical Front Office Assistant. Within this general career category are a number of specialty areas, including medical office receptionist, insurance billing and collection, appointment scheduler, medical secretary, or medical records clerk. Graduates of the MOA program may be employed in private physician’s offices, health care centers, clinics, hospitals, ambulatory care centers, and medical billing offices.
During the classroom portion of training, students will be introduced to a variety of subjects ranging from computer skills, medical front office skills, OSHA regulations, medical terminology, HIPPA, health insurance billing, insurance claims, ICD9 diagnosis codes, CPT procedure codes, patient billing and record keeping, and medical collection procedures.

Patient Care Technician
The six month Patient Care Technician program prepares a graduate to work as an entry-level Patient Care Technician in a hospital, nursing home, or long-term care facility. Graduates of this program will be able to assist nurses and physicians in medical examinations and basic laboratory procedures and in assisting with basic nursing care services. Students will learn to perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), electrocardiograms (EKGs), phlebotomy, check vital signs, charting, nurse assistant duties, and basic emergency first aid.
The Patient Care Technician program is taught utilizing a combination of classroom lecture, practical exercises in the medical laboratory, and real-world, on the job experience during the externship portion of training. The PCT course includes training to enable you to take exams to become a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA).

Our day, afternoon and evening class schedules are tailored to fit our students’ needs.
Externship & Job Placement Assistance
PCI students receive assistance and guidance in resume preparation, job search, interview skills, professional development and career planning. The Career Services department assists students with externship locations and placement assistance upon graduation.
We are interested in your long term success in the medical field and offer Lifetime Employment Placement assistance for PCI alumni in good standing. The Career Services department provides assistance with correct and employment-appropriate resume design, proper and professional dress for interviewing, interviewing skills, communication techniques, and assistance with employment search techniques.
Student Services
In addition, Student Services provides information to currently enrolled students on companies offering temporary or short-term employment to help students with their educational expenses.
